Education Services

Overview

At Saint Dominic’s Family Services, we are proud to provide a range of therapeutic educational programs that support the academic, emotional, and developmental growth of children and young adults. We serve students living in Rockland, Westchester, and Orange Counties, as well as New York City, through two school locations:

Whether families are seeking early childhood support, specialized instruction, or transitional services into adulthood, our programs are rooted in individualized care, inclusive practices, and a commitment to helping every student thrive.

Overview of Services

Saint Dominic’s offers comprehensive educational and therapeutic programs that serve children and youth with special needs from preschool through high school. Our services are designed to meet the unique needs of each student through individualized education plans (IEPs), small class sizes, and a multidisciplinary team of professionals that includes educators, therapists, and support staff.

Programs include:

  • Therapeutic Preschool Programs for children ages 2.7 to 5 that blend high-quality early childhood education with therapeutic services in both monolingual and bilingual (Spanish) settings.
  • Special Education Classes with individualized instruction and related services such as speech, occupational, and physical therapy.
  • Integrated Classes (SCIS) that combine general and special education students in inclusive classrooms co-taught by general and special education teachers.
  • Elementary and Middle School Education (Grades K–8) focused on academic instruction, social-emotional learning, and positive behavioral supports.
  • High School Education (Grades 9–12) with a curriculum that includes academic learning and community-based vocational experiences, preparing students for adulthood and offering the Skills and Achievement Credential.
  • Extended School Year (Summer Programs) that maintain educational progress through engaging instruction and services during the summer months.
  • Evaluation Services through our Evaluation Center, which provides comprehensive assessments for preschool-aged children to support early identification and access to services.

Community Based Services

In addition to our educational programs, Saint Dominic’s Family Services offers wraparound support through our Community-Based Services (CBS) program. These services are designed to meet the broader needs of children and families outside the classroom, including afterschool support, mental health counseling, family therapy, case management, and other individualized services. By addressing challenges at home and in the community, we help ensure that each child and family receives the comprehensive care they need to thrive.
